Just wondering kites are popular all over the world, why Patang is so special to you?

Why the Indian patang is so special to me or kites in general? My answer will be to the first interpretation.
One reason. I have not experience so much sheer enthusiasm for kites than from Indian people from outside and within the country; and their genuine love for kites is contagious. They eat drink sleep and live kites. I observed in many Indian people how Patang is impregnated into every aspect of their life: from recreation, competiton, occupation, to religion. For certain people, it's not just a sheer hobby; they see something deeper in kites. Something divine. And I am starting to understand why.
